What do we mean by technical museum production?
The technical production of museum exhibits does not begin in the workshop. It begins much earlier: with a feasibility analysis of the design. When we receive a project — whether from a museum, a design studio or a project management team — the first thing we do is assess whether each element can be manufactured with the necessary guarantees of safety, durability and fidelity to the original concept.
This involves assessing materials, manufacturing processes and tolerances, and, in many cases, developing technical solutions that are not available off the shelf. We frequently work with cutting-edge materials combined with more traditional ones: wood, metal, resin, Solid Surface, composite elements and special finishes, all of which coexist within a single piece.
Pre-assembly as a quality control tool
One of the stages that delivers the greatest value to our clients — and which sets us apart — is the pre-assembly carried out at our facilities prior to transport to the final destination. This practice, which is standard procedure at Proasur, enables us to:
- Check that all components fit together properly before final installation.
- Identify necessary adjustments in a controlled environment, without travel costs or deadline pressures at the destination.
- Document the process to assist the technical team with on-site assembly.
- Ensure that the final result matches the approved design exactly.
In highly complex projects or those involving overseas installations, pre-assembly is not an option: it is the difference between a flawless installation and a costly problem thousands of miles from home.
The workshop where technical museum displays are created
