Covadonga Hospital - Women's Institute

The new Women's Institute at Covadonga Hospital brings together gynaecology, breast screening and surgery teams in a single location.

Led by Verónica Durán, architect and head of the interior design project for the renovation of Covadonga Hospital, the Women's Institute (IDEMU) offers a revamped version of its facilities to fulfil its purpose of providing comprehensive healthcare services for women.

At Proasur, we have been responsible for the manufacture and assembly of decorative elements and furniture for the Unit (IDEMU) at Covadonga Hospital.

One of the milestones for our team was to manufacture and design the spaces where the decorative elements, panels, cladding, woodwork and furniture would be located before they were finished.

In addition, the assembly was carried out while other trades were working in the same area. It was therefore necessary to work closely with Verónica Durán to ensure that coordination and cooperation between the different teams was successful.

The work was carried out within a very specific and tight deadline, as the premises had to be opened to the public as soon as possible. Coordination between the construction work and the manufacture of the elements was very important in order to finish on time.

In addition to manufacturing and assembling decorative elements and furniture for the Women's Unit, Proasur was responsible for refurbishing the rooms on the first floor of the east wing and the operating theatre area, achieving resounding success.
