TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT, MANUFACTURING AND ASSEMBLY
Engineering and technical development at the Archaeological Museum of Banyoles.
The Banyoles Archaeological Museum showcases Proasur’s ability to deliver precise museographic solutions in unique environments. Commissioned by Nunsys Group , we led the technical development, manufacturing and installation of the new museography inside a 14th-century Gothic palace, integrating contemporary exhibition solutions within a protected historic building.
The challenge of renovating the Archaeological Museum of Banyoles: a 14th-century palace.
Proasur’s scope covered 560 m² of exhibition space within a rehabilitated historic complex of nearly 2,000 m². Working inside a 14th-century Gothic building meant leaving standard processes behind from day one: irregular walls, stone ceilings and a location in the heart of Banyoles’ historic centre demanded continuous engineering development and constant on-site adaptation.
Millimetric adaptation: We carried out detailed on-site measurements and adjustments to fit all exhibition furniture to the irregularities of the historic building, ensuring precision finishing without altering the original architecture.
Logistics in a restricted urban environment: We coordinated adapted fleet access in a pedestrian-only area, managing the operation directly with Banyoles City Council to guarantee deadlines without incident.
Critical deadlines: We completed the final production and graphic layout in record time after content delivery, demonstrating Proasur’s capacity to absorb unforeseen challenges without compromising the quality of the final result.
Customised exhibition solutions for the Archaeological Museum of Banyoles.
The production included the manufacturing and installation of over 150 linear metres of custom security display cases, housing original archaeological pieces of exceptional heritage value — among them the Banyoles Mandible, one of Europe’s most significant human fossils, and the Draga Neolithic Bow, the oldest complete wooden bow in Europe at approximately 7,000 years old.
A successfully delivered project.
The intervention at the Banyoles Archaeological Museum demonstrates Proasur’s ability to tackle projects with high technical and logistical complexity, meet demanding deadlines and deliver a result worthy of a landmark heritage space.
