TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT, MANUFACTURING AND ASSEMBLY
Engineering and technical development at the Archaeological Museum of Banyoles.
The Banyoles Archaeological Museum is a museum design project that demonstrates Proasur’s ability to adapt to unique settings. In collaboration with Nunsys Group, we led the technical development, manufacture and installation of the new museum design within a 14th-century Gothic palace, integrating contemporary exhibition solutions into a listed historic building.
The challenge of renovating the Archaeological Museum of Banyoles: a 14th-century palace.
Proasur’s work centred on a 560 m² exhibition space within a restored historic complex covering almost 2,000 m². Working on a 14th-century Gothic building meant abandoning standard procedures from day one: the irregular walls, the stone ceilings and the location in the heart of Banyoles’ historic centre necessitated ongoing engineering work and constant on-site adaptation.
Precision fitting: We take measurements and make adjustments on site to adapt all display furniture to the irregularities inherent in a historic building, ensuring a precise finish without altering the original architecture.
Logistics in a restricted urban environment: We coordinated the entry of a specially adapted fleet into a pedestrian zone that is difficult to access, managing the operation directly with Banyoles Town Council to ensure that deadlines were met without any issues.
Critical deadlines: We completed the production and final layout of the graphics in record time following receipt of the content, demonstrating Proasur’s ability to cope with unforeseen circumstances without compromising the quality of the end result.
Bespoke exhibition solutions for the Archaeological Museum of Banyoles.
A project successfully completed.
The project at the Banyoles Archaeological Museum demonstrates Proasur’s ability to tackle projects involving high levels of technical and logistical complexity, meet tight deadlines and deliver a result that is worthy of a leading heritage site.
