"Caín overo il primo omicidio" Scenic Production
Bilbao's Teatro Arriaga has staged the oratorio "Cain, overo il primo omicidio". Proasur team has developed the technical development and production services for this scenic production.
The Proasur team has been in charge of the technical development and production services for "Cain, overo il primo omicidio" scenic production for the Arriaga Theatre in Bilbao. Written by Alessandro Scarlatti in 1707 as a work of the Counter-Reformation, it was premiered in Venice in 1701 and is considered a fully-fledged opera, as well as one of Scarlatti's most important works.
"Cain, overo il primo omicidio" is based on the story of Cain and Abel and its music takes us on a great journey to the first fratricide in our culture.
The show, directed by Tatjana Gurbaça and produced by the Bilbao's Arriaga Antzokia Theatre, was a very special lyrical and scenic project to enjoy the art of the Neapolitan genius Alessandro Scarlatti.
From a technical point of view, on the one hand, the main complexity of the project consisted of creating a suspended structure 6 m in diameter, located above the artists' heads.
In addition, the structure had to integrate a vertical and tilting movement that would allow it to adjust its position to the projection that fell on it.
It was also necessary to limit the use of the theatre's rods, to respect its maximum load and to ensure that the element could play on stage in full view of the audience.
As a result, thanks to the fantastic team involved in this play about the plot of man's first criminal action, a fantastic reception from the public and a resounding success were achieved.
