Netflix's ‘The Hole 2’
Proasur has had the privilege of participating in the construction of the sets for ‘The Hole 2’, the eagerly awaited sequel to the Netflix phenomenon that established itself as a benchmark for Spanish dystopian cinema with an international reach. For our team, this project represented one of the most unique challenges of our career in set design: bringing to life, with pinpoint precision, the oppressive and symbolism-laden spaces that define the visual universe of the series.
A setting as impressive as the one in the film
The construction of the sets for ‘The Hole 2’ required highly demanding technical work, both in terms of structural planning and final execution. Our team took on the responsibility of building the spaces that, on screen, convey the claustrophobic and visceral atmosphere that characterises the production. Every aspect of the construction was designed to ensure that the visual result met the narrative requirements of the director and the art department.
Given the confidential nature of the project, which is subject to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) – standard practice for productions of this calibre – we are unable to share images of the production process or the finished sets. However, the result speaks for itself: ‘The Hole 2’ reached the global Top 10 on Netflix, and our company is listed in the film’s official credits under the category of Set Construction.
Our team, in the Netflix credits
Seeing Proasur’s name in the credits of a production of this calibre is a source of immense pride for all the professionals who made this achievement possible. This recognition also highlights the ability of an Asturian company to contribute to audiovisual productions with a global reach, something that reflects the versatility and excellence that set us apart.
The experience gained on ‘The Hole 2’ cements Proasur’s reputation as a company capable of handling projects of the highest technical standard in top-tier audiovisual production environments, thereby adding a new dimension to our track record in set design.
